11.1.2. Continuity in Staff Training and Staff Procedures

Staff should be provided with training and access to key documents when they join the agency. To ensure continuity in staff training and procedures, access to files and documents should be constantly available and regularly updated. Training should not be limited to new employees. Ongoing training should be provided for all staff. A culture of open communication should be encouraged where staff can ask questions about anything, at any time, and are not shamed for not knowing.

Note: In addition to training, agencies must provide staff with the right tools, equipment, and infrastructure to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Required tools will depend on the specific role and services provided.
