11.1.1. Facilitating Training
Organisational training is an ongoing and cyclical process, involving identifying training needs on a regular basis, planning training activities, and reviewing training outcomes. Training needs assessments should be conducted with staff, and capacity building plans developed in response. Induction training should be provided to all new staff in an agency, with ongoing and refresher training for all staff on a regular basis. Training involves a commitment of organisational time and resources. Training is also necessary to ensure legal compliance in some contexts.
Note: Information sharing and training networks can facilitate exchange of learning and reduce the organisational training burden on any single provider. In Uganda, CATIPU provides an important coordinating mechanism for service providers that may be engages to support the facilitation of training and cross-agency learning.
