To meet this need, a wide variety of governmental and non-governmental actors are delivering vital care and support services. Yet, there is no centralised framework guiding the provision of care and support across different agencies in Uganda.
The lack of centralised guidance and standards on care and support for survivors of trafficking in persons in Uganda means that the quality of care received by survivors can vary depending on where they are and with which agencies they come into contact. It also means that some agencies may not be equipped to provide the most effective care possible in the circumstances and can undermine coordination of care and support services between different providers.
The aim of the National Guidelines on Care and Support (NGCS) for survivors of trafficking in persons in Uganda is to facilitate, and improve the overall quality of, care and support provided to survivors of trafficking in persons in Uganda.
